Hymn for Everyone is a modern twist on music from the past with contemporary creations inspired by Guillaume de Machaut, Hildegard von Bingen, and François Couperin.
Journey across centuries and continents in a single evening. Experience Osvaldo Golijov’s luminous cello concerto Azul, alongside Christopher Theofanidis’s shimmering Rainbow Body, woven from a chant by the medieval mystic Hildegard von Bingen. With Kevin Puts’s Virelai and the Young Musician Competition winner on marimba, this program offers a rare blend of ancient inspiration, global rhythms, and contemporary orchestral color that feels both timeless and brand new.
*Join us at 6 p.m. for a “Prelude!”, a pre-concert talk and Q&A with WVSO Music Director Nikolas Caoile at the Numerica PAC concert hall. Get ready for the show and dive into insights about our concert program.
