Old Coyote Ceramics was founded in 2022 by Katie MacCallum. She graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2009, followed by a Masters of Occupational Therapy in 2011. Katie is a woodblock printmaker turned potter. All items at Old Coyote Ceramics are handmade. Her work features the Sgraffito technique, a method where designs are carved into layers of contrasting colors to create intricate, detailed images. She also specializes in pit fired pottery—a primitive open-fire method that results in unique, unpredictable patterns and colors on each piece.
