Nena Howell, a new emerging artist creates contemporary figurative oil paintings with reverence for Tlingit Indian formline and Ukrainian roots. Her sweet ancestral rhythm guides that feeling of wellness that enlivens her brushes and oils as she works. Movement is key for each canvas with layers of abundance, wellness, and stewardship.
After a full career in business and marketing, in the winter of 2020, Howell pivoted full-time to art, and the business of art. Howell is represented by Gallery 110, downtown Seattle, has been selected for awards, grants, and juried exhibitions in the Pacific Northwest. Howell works from my studio in Wenatchee close to her childhood home in Edmonds, Wash.
