Film & Speaker Series: Era of Megafires

The Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center is partnering with the U.S. Forest Service in hosting the mixed media presentation Era of Megafires, on Thursday, September 11, at 6 PM.
Learn about the nature of wildfires, their natural role on the forest, and how human impacts are significantly increasing incidences of Mega fires (100,000+ acre fires).
This presentation will be presented by Dr. Paul Hessburg, sharing knowledge conducted from nearly 30 years of fire and landscape ecology research, accompanied by stunning video vignettes and wildlife photography from John Marshall.
Admission is free for members and $5 for non-members. Registration is recommended.
Funds from this event support the Museum’s mission-serving programs, including featured exhibits, MakerSpace, robotics clubs, field trips, student scholarships, community cultural events, film and speaker series, and collection restorations.
The Era of Megafires was produced by Wenatchee-based documentary film company, North 40 Productions, and is sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service. The 2025-26 Film & Speaker Series is supported by the City of Wenatchee and the City of East Wenatchee.
