Environmental Film and Speaker Series Presents: The Smell of Money

The Confluence Rotary Club has partnered with the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center for a screening of the award-nominated documentary “The Smell of Money,” followed by a Q&A discussion with film producer Jamie Berger.

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, 7-9 PM, guests will also have an opportunity to sample delicious plant-based dishes, with supervised activities for guests’ children in Coyote’s Corner.

“The smell of money,” that’s what Big Pork calls the stench of pig waste in the air in eastern North Carolina, where much of the world’s bacon and barbecue is made. But to Elsie Herring and others who live near the state’s giant pig factories, the revolting odor is a call to battle against generations of injustice. Pre-Registration is required for childcare ages 5+. Space is limited. General registration in advance is recommended for all attendees. Admission is free for members and $5 for non-members.
