]]> My name is Maria,
I like to do art on my free time. I was born and raised in Wenatchee and have been doing art since I was just a little girl, I have recently been coming out of my shell and have started showcasing my art at local shows here in the valley. I'm so happy to be part of this community, and to be able to express not only myself but my work with all the wonderful people here in Wenatchee.

]]> I am a Pacific Northwest native, with a great connection to its widely diverse and natural beauty. The textures, geological formations, and the kaleidoscope of moody, rich and emotive colors, make a rich palette to draw from for inspiration. I have been creating textural mixed media art for years. I love working with organic and found materials that I apply directly onto surfaces such as canvas, wood, and encaustic work.

]]> For more than a decade, Courtney Taylor has made her home in the Pacific Northwest, where the mountains, rivers, and shifting seasons have become woven into her therapeutic work. As a specially trained expressive arts therapist, she offers a multimodal, creativity‑centered approach to healing for individuals and families throughout the North Central Washington valley. Her practice blends image, movement, story, sound, and nature‑based integration, inviting clients into spaces where imagination becomes a trusted companion in their growth.

Courtney’s academic path reflects her lifelong curiosity about the human experience—she completed her undergraduate studies in psychology, anthropology, and art, grounding her work in both cultural understanding and creative inquiry. A lifelong artist herself, she has always turned to creativity as a place of authenticity, safety, and self‑expression. It is a joy for her to now share that same creative refuge with others, guiding them as they discover their own inner landscapes and artistic voices.

Outside her professional life, Courtney finds nourishment in the natural world. She spends time with her family exploring national parks, tending her garden, and growing food that she later cans and preserves to share with loved ones. Whether she is cultivating a garden bed or supporting a client’s unfolding story, Courtney approaches each moment with presence, artistry, and a deep reverence for the healing power of creativity.

]]> I am retired and have been living in Wenatchee for 30 years now. Born on Guam in 1948, lived there until I was 6 then moved to the Tri-Cities in Washington where my dad worked as a nuclear pile engineer.

I graduated from Kennewick High in 1967 and went on to Central Washington state college, graduating in 1972 with Bachelor in Art History and Anthropology. I studied art at CWC but stopped after getting married and raising a family. After retiring we traveled Europe several times.

After many years not painting I picked up the brush a year ago and have not put it down.

]]> For me, art is a rebellious act.
I've never wondered if I'm an artist… I was born knowing.
I work across canvas, skin, clay, and screen: painting, drawing, tattooing, ceramics, photography, and digital art. Not because I can't choose a lane, but because I don't speak in specific mediums. I speak in feeling. Everything I encounter to create with is just the tool.

My work lives at the threshold, the space between what shows and what doesn't. My subjects return again and again to emergence: women rising from roots, faces surfacing from smoke, figures caught mid transformation between what they were and what they're becoming. There's a duality running through all of my work that is not meant to resolve into easy harmony. Control vs freedom… Roots vs wings… Aflame but never burnt.

To me, art is how we hand each other our own private way of seeing the world. It's how I take whatever's been hardest to carry and alchemize it into something that doesn't just sit inside me anymore, something I can hold up and say this is what it's been like to be me, does anyone else know this feeling too? My hope is that someone someday stands in front of a piece of mine and feels less alone in whatever they're carrying or transforming into.
I'm based in Cashmere, where I run Inklinations, a private tattoo studio. I'm also co-founder of Make Your Mark, a Washington nonprofit dedicated to radical art accessibility.

]]> Ari Shore

For over a decade, I taught art in classrooms filled with creative chaos and possibility, guiding students through color, form, texture, and the quiet magic of making. Eventually, my path is shifting toward clinical counseling, where I am exploring healing not just through art, but through deep listening, reflection, and care. Now, in this season of life, I find myself as a mom, friend, partner, student, teacher and a forever maker, navigating the steady hum of daily life, while still carving out sacred time to return to my own creative center.

At my table (often literally crowded), you’ll find metalwork alongside oil paintings, handwoven textiles draped next to stained glass, natural materials waiting to be transformed, and (so many) half-finished projects sharing space with everyday living. I’ve never fit neatly into a single box, not as a maker, not as a teacher, not as a mother, and I’m learning that maybe that’s the point. This is a space of integration: a home for all my practices, from fine art to functional craft.

Crowded Table Craft is a studio operating out of Artworx in Wenatchee, providing kid, teen, and adult classes, workshops, and camps

]]> My name is Nancy Sunitsch and I am a mixed-media artist and teacher. I paint, draw, photograph, print and create many types of two-dimensional art.

I completed a general art bachelor’s degree at University of Washington before I earned my teaching certificate. My young adult years were spent teaching elementary-aged students, raising three children, and then teaching secondary art.

I have recently moved to Leavenworth, Washington to enjoy the next chapter of my retirement. I have ever-changing goals to improve my skills, find specific types of art that I love, and to find my artistic voice.

When I’m not in my studio, I garden, photograph nature, run my dogs, volunteer as a native plant steward, and am a grandmother. I plan on continuing my daily art practice and see myself continuing to teach and embrace my inner artist.
