Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, DATURA conjures a danceable blend of goth rock and post-punk, driven by brooding rhythms and shimmering melodies. Their live shows are immersive and magnetic, pulling audiences into a misty world of their own making and their music is designed for fans of Nox Novacula, Bambara, House of Harm, French Police, and Haunt Me, blending melancholic melodies with a bruised, club-ready edge.

DATURA formed in 2018 in Wenatchee, Washington, and, following a lineup change in 2025 marking the departure of longtime drummer Tiffany Shafer, the band is composed of David Betancourt (vocalist, guitarist), Jake St. John (bassist), and Dustin Hays (drummer).

Initially self-releasing two EPs, DATURA signed with Sell the Heart Records (Berkeley, California) in 2021 and released their debut full-length album in 2022. Arcano Chemical received critical praise for its melancholic catchiness and haunting atmosphere. The band’s sophomore LP was released in April 2025 via Sell the Heart Records and in collaboration with Poland’s Bat-Cave Productions and the UK’s Engineer Records. Songs from a Dark House introduces a more upbeat, driving side to DATURA’s repertoire and touches thematically on burnout, addiction, isolation, and war.

In 2026, DATURA continues to evolve its sound with a sharp focus on intensity and danceability while building momentum with appearances at Verboden and MACROCK XXIX, as well as touring the American Southwest and East Coast. The band is also preparing to enter the studio to record their third full-length album. A short documentary produced by Lili Minato, a student at Western Oregon University, offers a closer look at DATURA’s trajectory within the modern darkwave and post-punk landscape.

We are an all original Heavy Rock Band based here in the Wenatchee Valley. The founding members have been together for 10 years. We bring Hard Driving Rock with thought provoking lyrics. Basically when you get down to it, we are just a bunch of guys who love making music. When the groove is right, there is nothing like it. We are very excited to be bringing our sound to the world.

Against Complacency in Musical Mediocrity, we remain Defiant.

The Timely Tragedy is a 4-Piece Alternative/Indie Rock band out of Central Washington State (Chelan, WA). Originally started as a solo project by Matthew Sherrard (Years To Zero, The People Now, A Chance Without), the project has grown and evolved into what it is today. All members have been playing most of their lives and have extensive professional musical backgrounds. Their sound is reminiscent of 90’s Alternative Rock with a modern, melodic twist and are known for their intricate instrumentals and thought provoking lyrics. They are often compared to the sounds of Porcupine Tree, Incubus, Weezer and Pearl Jam. Many of their songs have gained traction on Spotify and they have been featured on both live streaming online radio stations and Seattle local radio stations.

The Timely Tragedy is making a name for themselves in their local community of Central Washington, and have been actively playing shows in the Seattle scene as well. They are eager to add more and more shows to their resume and become a big part of the independent music community!

The Timely Tragedy is:
Matthew Sherrard – Lead Vocals/Guitar
Kevin Morgan – Drums/Backing Vocals
Chad Duvall – Guitar/Backing Vocals
Nat Heck – Bass/Backing Vocals

Andru Gomez is a Montana born musician living in Moscow, ID. With frequent performances in Tri-Cities, Walla Walla, Leavenworth, Moses Lake, Wenatchee and the surrounding area, Andru is proud to call Central Washington a stomping ground. A passion for songwriting and exploring sounds has led him to open for numerous acts and bands over the last 20 years including Bart Budwig, Hillstomp, Scott Weiland, Doug Martsch, El Ten Eleven and Finn Riggins to name a few. When he’s not writing or performing you can find him enjoying craft beers or whiskeys, listening to audio books or spending time with his dog Bruce.

Born and raised in the Leavenworth area, Kris Lahd began playing guitar at age 7 after his mom taught him two chords. After spending 25 years in Los Angeles and Seattle, Kris has returned to call Leavenworth home once again. He remains very active in the music scene as the band leader for Artemidorus (a Pink Floyd Experience), Cajun Moon, and the duo Laine & Lahd.

Shady’s musical journey began in her early teenage years in her father’s studio. She also shared the stage with her parents’ band, impressing audiences at the renowned local Apple Blossom festival. In June 2022, Shady had her first solo performance at the Numerica Performing Arts Center, opening for the acclaimed new wave/post-punk band Modern English, known for their hits “I Melt With You” and “Hands Across the Sea.” Her performance left a lasting impact.

Together, Kris Lahd and Shady Laine bring a wealth of experience and passion to their performances. With Kris’s seasoned musicianship and Shady’s fresh, compelling presence, their collaboration in Laine & Lahd promises an unforgettable musical experience, blending the best of both their talents.
