SUMMARY:A New Perspective: ART by GENE BARKLEY
DESCRIPTION:Well known pointillism artist will have new works in abstract form at The VOGUE in Chelan WA \nShow starts July 28th. \nARTIST RECEPTION at the VOGUE AUGUST 1st 2pm -4pm. \nall are welcome \nPointillism Paintings and Drawings by Gene Barkley \nPointillism: A theory and technique developed by the Neoimpressionist based not the principle that juxtaposed dots of pure color are optically mixed into the resulting huge (ie. yellow and blue become green). \nStippling: The method of painting\, and engraving\, drawing by means of dots or small spots to create an image. \nPointillism had its beginnings in the work of the 19th century neoimpressionist Georges Seurat.  It is a lengthy and tedious style that few contemporary artists use.  Some of my paintings and drawings take over 100 hrs to complete.  The two questions I’m most asked are what is Pointillism and why do I use that style.  The first question can be answered by definition.  The second is an evocative feeling of meditative release.  I enjoy the process the building a panting.  I have been a builder my whole life\, a carpenter and a mason.  I try to keep a balance as to which of my endeavors is my vocation and which is an avocation.  Like many artists\, I work outside to support my real passion\, painting!  For me\, Pointillism is simply a style.  I do not practice it in the traditional sense\, I have found a way to give it my signature. \nPainting for me is an intuitive process and I hope to create images that touch the viewer taking them to a place pleasurable and comfortable.  Though self taught for the most part\, I have learned much by observation\, association\, study and perhaps a bit of piracy.  I try to surround myself with artist friends who always inspire me. \nI work from a studio in my home outside Chelan now.  If you’d like to see more of my work or just come for a chat\, you can contact me at: 509-682-2134

SUMMARY:Documentary Screening: Han\, Intergenerational Trauma and Collective Identity by Cymone Van Marter at Confluence Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Twisp\, WA — Confluence Gallery is proud to host an evening screening of Han\, Intergenerational Trauma and Collective Identity\, a thesis documentary by Cymone Van Marter\, a Liberty Bell High School graduate. The event will take place on Tuesday\, July 8\, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Confluence Gallery and is free and open to the public. Due to the nature of the historical content\, a 13+ age range is advised.\nVan Marter recently completed her Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television and East Asian Studies with an emphasis in Korean Language and Culture\, with a minor in Spanish. Her 25-minute documentary\, Han\, explores a uniquely Korean cultural concept born from centuries of war\, colonization\, and collective struggle. Through powerful interviews and curated historical archives\, she investigates how this inherited emotion continues to shape South Korean identity today. \n“My goal was to present Korean history and identity in a way that feels approachable and educational for an American audience\,” Van Marter said. “Han is unfamiliar to many in the West\, but understanding it opens a window into the broader human experiences of trauma\, resilience\, and cultural inheritance.”\nLight snacks and refreshments will be provided. Seating is first come\, first served. Attendees are advised that the film contains historical material that may be triggering for some.\nJoin us at Confluence Gallery for this thought-provoking and timely film event. \nMORE INFORMATION

SUMMARY:The Mini Quest Tavern presents "The Arcane Rift"
DESCRIPTION:The Mini Quest Tavern is a scripted play\, with costumes\, props\, sound\, and projections to help the audience imagine the locations in the story as the performers move through the room. There is a funny “DM” or Dungeon Master who tells the story\, introduces non-player characters and presides over the action and decisions being made. His word is law\, but if you are familiar with the “Dungeons and Dragons” rule book\, don’t expect this show to contain all the detailed rules and mechanics used in normal tabletop roleplaying. \nWe have a whole campaign\, and multiple combat encounters planned to complete in under two hours. We are here to entertain and make you laugh and cheer. Our simplified rule set is geared for the enjoyment of complete novice and experienced player alike. \nThe show is not for small children\, but great for teens and adults. Tickets are restricted to ages 10 & up. \nThere are two types of tickets. The VIP Player tables will choose the hero who will be their avatar in the show from a selection of ten different characters. They will be given character sheets for their hero\, and the player tables will then work together to make choices when they are presented\, and roll dice to use their talents and skills in battle. \nGeneral Admission ticket holders will sit at separate tables and will have the opportunity to help name characters and places\, and vote on the paths the story will take. The hero characters do not have scripts. They improvise their actions\, reactions\, battles and dialogue with the help of the players who tell them what to do. There are 14 talented local actors in this production.\nMany fans of our show enjoy attending in costume. This is welcome but not required. \n\nWebsite:\nhttps://www.facebook.com/miniquesttavern/ \nContact: \nminiquesttavern@gmail.com\n(509) 670-8233
