The park features a dog off-leash area, skate park, picnic shelter, and children’s play equipment. The design should take into consideration ease of maintenance and resistance to vandalism. A laser-cut, powder-coated steel image is desirable to reduce the amount of surface area available for tagging and areas where a person may be concealed. The art panel is planned to measure sixteen feet wide and four feet high and would be anchored onto a concrete curb. Hygge (pronounced HOO-guh or HUE-guh) is a Danish term that describes a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that fosters a feeling of contentment and well-being. This year’s holiday exhibit will feature works that celebrate the small joys of life, embrace relaxation and quiet pleasures, and support the well-being of everyone. Artists are invited to submit work in any medium that represents your personal style, the aesthetic that you feel makes your work recognizable, while embracing the feeling of hygge. We encourage artists to produce artwork at affordable price points for the gift-giving season. Buyers of work from this show are allowed to take pieces at the time of purchase so we will replace items as they sell. There are no size restrictions for this show.

We're building a collaborative cast to perform throughout the weekend as part of our interactive vendor space. The performance schedule is still being finalized with the Faire, so we're gathering interested performers now and will create a schedule that works with everyone's availability.

We're seeking:

Aerialists (lyra, silks, hammock, trapeze, etc.)

Hula hoopers and flow artists

Belly dancers

Acro and circus performers

Dancers and other movement artists

Story tellers, poetics and comedians

The experience will feature an Enchanted Forest theme with opportunities for themed performances, photo opportunities, mini lessons, and interactive demonstrations.

Performers must provide their own Okanogan Family Barter Faire admission/camping ticket. There may be opportunities to receive tips or trades during performances and activities.

Planning will be done through virtual meetings leading up to the event to develop the theme, costumes, music, and performance schedule.

The Sleeping Lady Foundation’s speaker series gets off to a big start on Sunday, September 13, 2026, with award-winning author Kristin Hannah presenting from Leavenworth, Washington, an unforgettable mountain escape nestled in the Cascade Mountains.

Kristin Hannah is well known as an award-winning and bestselling author of more than 21 novels, including the international blockbusters, The Nightingale, The Great Alone, as well as Winter Garden, Night Road , and Firefly Lane. The Four Winds debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. 

Kristin Hannah is a former-lawyer-turned writer who lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband. She can’t imagine a better career than writing every day. And, she doesn’t miss practicing the law–or wearing heels to work. Kristin writes because it frees something in her and allows her to be the wife, mother, and friend she wants to be. 

During this 75-minute conversation, Kristin will provide insights on the significance of her female characters and the importance of placing complex, resilient female characters at the center of historical events. Tickets for this 2:30 p.m. event with Kristin Hannah are coordinated through the Sleeping Lady Foundation’s partnership with Icicle Creek Center for the Arts. All ticket proceeds will be retained by ICCA to help support its valuable work as one of the region’s most important cultural resources. Each ticket holder will receive a copy of the paperback edition of The Women. 

The venue for this event is located at the Leavenworth Festhalle, 1001 Front St., Leavenworth, WA.
